The curriculum at Petco for puppy training is designed to encourage positive behaviors by teaching the basics and building on the commands you practice at home. We cover essential commands, loose-leash walking and provide problem solving tips for potty training, chewing, digging and more. In-person group sessions also allow for puppies to socialize in a safe environment.

Create a custom curriculum at your neighborhood Petco by enrolling in a private lesson or group class. Always take your dog's favourite treats and toys with you when practising this command on walks, so you can continue to reward him when he comes back. Gently hold your dog's collar as they come to you, and either feed them the treat or let them play with the toy.

This 6-week class expands on puppy basic behaviors and introduces the concept of establishing those behaviors as routine. When you’re teaching your dog something new, remember that they have the attention span and intelligence of a two-year-old. Your training sessions should be short and to the point.
